2012 ProBlogger Training Event – Save This Date

After the success of the 2011′s Melbourne ProBlogger Training Day plans are well underway for a new, bigger and better Melbourne event for 2012. Based upon the survey we ran with past participants we’ve been tweaking our approach and planning a few changes to last year. Here’s some of what to expect:

2 Days

The biggest change is that we’re moving to a 2 day event. Last year we had so much ground to cover in the day that we ran 3 sessions at the same time for much of the day. Sessions were also short and didn’t allow us to go as deep as we wanted.

So this year we’re holding PBEVENT over 2 days. Sessions will be a little longer and we’ll only run a maximum of 2 sessions at once but will do more ‘all in’ sessions. This will mean more indepth training opportunities and less feeling torn between sessions (although there will be some times when you will need to choose).

The Dates

To enable you to plan to attend we’re announcing the dates today in advance of when tickets will go on sale. We’ll be holding the event on 12-13 October. That’s a Friday and Saturday. We unfortunately won’t have one day tickets available but attendees will have opportunity to get recordings for sessions that they miss if you can’t get to the full two days.

Networking Opportunities

We will be running a networking breakfast on Friday (the first morning) to help people get to know others right from the start. This will be included in the price.

There will be a Friday night networking event in a special venue (TBA) – included in the price of tickets. This will be a great time for mixing, relaxing after a good day of learning and having a little fun (we may even start the next morning a little later for those who have too much fun).

Venue

This year’s event will be held at Melbourne’s Etihad Stadium. Sound big? Actually we’ll be in ‘rooms’ at the stadium so it will be reasonably intimate although we’ll have a bit more room in breakout rooms this year (no more sitting on the floor in popular electives).

We’re also assured that a newly installed Wifi will be much better than last year (they say its good enough for 50,000 people…. but I’m sure we’ll put it through its paces as they’ve not had hundreds of bloggers on their hands before).

We have increased the capacity over last year slightly but tickets will be limited in numbers. While we know there is a lot of demand we didn’t want this year to lose its intimacy – so if you are intending on coming you’ll want to get your tickets quickly once they’re on sale. Based upon last years demand I do expect that this event will sell out.

Express Your Interest in Attending Here

The best way to be notified of tickets going on sale is to add your email address to the form below – we’ll email you in the lead up to tickets being released. Note: this is a different list to last years. You need to signup here to be notified.

Content/Sessions

At last year’s event there was a fairly strong focus upon monetization, building a business around your blog. This year will be even more focused upon this.

While we’ve previously been a bit more general in focus – a lot of the feedback we got from past attendees is that they wanted an event to help them get serious about growing blogs that would be profitable or open up opportunities for business. While you’re welcome to attend even if you’re not an entrepreneurial blogger – the conference will be most useful to those bloggers.

Speakers

We are already working on sessions and speakers at present. This year in addition to invited speakers and speakers from the ProBlogger team we will be open to receiving attendee submissions to speak.

Interested in speaking? Here’s some info on what we’re looking for and how to submit your session ideas.

Sponsor PBEvent

Last year a limited number of places were opened up to sponsors for PBevent. Feedback from these sponsors was great – they saw increased traffic to their sites and made valuable connections. This year we similarly have some great opportunities for sponsors and have prepared a deck of information for you.

Please contact us as soon as possible for this information. We can deliver you maximum exposure during our launch if we have you on board early so don’t leave it too late.

Stay Tuned for More

We are busily working on making this year’s ProBlogger Event a useful two days for attendees. Tickets are not yet ready to go on sale but we will continue to update you via the above email list (don’t forget to sign up) as information comes to hand.

Thanks for your interest!

  1. Excellent News, Darren and Team organising ProBlogger Training Event 2012. Based on my experience at ProBlogger Trainind DAY in 2011 I know this will also not only meet, but exceed expectations.
Thanks for this, and I did wonder about Etihad Stadium and capacity.
Build it and they will come, right?
Looking to book flights now, and I am thinking accommodation close by as organised by me rather than conference rates. Will keep in the loop.
    Cheers
    Denyse

  2. Very exciting, booked in my diary already! Can you please suggest best accommodation closer to date. Looking forward to it, thanks Darren.

  3. John Young says:

Sounds Great! I’ll be there again for sure, had a great time at last year.

  4. Ah, now that’s something to look forward to!

  5. Loren says:

I will be there for sure. I was inspired to launch my own business (in a week) as a result of the last conference and there has been no looking back – best thing I ever did, so I look forward to seeing what this one motivates me to do. :)
